“Crossed the deserts bare, man
I've breathed the mountain air, man
Of travel I've had my share, man”
I've Been Everywhere by Johnny Cash
Hello, Cheryl & John Here.....
Do you like tripping? I mean road tripping, what you did in college is your business.
My wife and I love road tripping, and we want to see as much as possible before it burns up, slides down, disappears into the ocean, or microplastics clog my brain. I also enjoy a good challenge and am lucky to have a partner who tolerates my adventurous tendencies.
Embracing the EV road trip mindset, we chose a 2022 Kia EV6 as our weapon of choice and quickly realized that driving an electric car isn’t so different from driving a gasoline-powered one.
The challenge is figuring out how to electric car road-trip across America without racking up an expensive towing bill.
By combining old-school tools with modern technology, we mapped out the charging landscape, easing range concerns, extending our EV road trips, and eventually embracing the full potential of North American exploration - obtaining the status of EV Road Trip Professionals.
Using a traditional paper atlas and adhesive plastic dots, I spent a few Hallmark movies marking EV public chargers on the map. Now, we choose a destination, and Cheryl plans our trips.
This pre-planning method lets us relax and enjoy the North American landscape, explore National and State Parks, and visit friends and family along the way.
